Home again

Last week we hired a car and took ourselves back home
to S.E London and Sussex for a quick visit to our parents and friends for a couple of days.
First stop to see Ian's Mum and Dad and while there some more arrangements were made to get Dad a place in the nursing home with Mum. That will be good.
Then down to see Karen's Mum and Dad in Sussex, where an early morning walk into the bluebell woods was something we were keen to do. The beautiful sight and smell of masses of bluebells was wonderful.
The photo doesn't do justice to the depth of colour, I'm afraid.
Then it was good to watch 'the wedding' together before we had to return to London again.
We got back to the boat in early hours of Saturday morning, and were pleased to find we felt like we had come home, so Tacet really is our home now.

So back in Nottingham on Sunday, we again went to Grace Church, it was good to go back and share with them again. In the afternoon we went to an organ recital (a new experience for us) at the Albert Hall, Nottingham. Paul Hale was the organist and the organ there is a Binns.
In the evening we met up with Josh, a family friend from Sussex who is at uni in Nottingham, and took him out for dinner.

Monday it was time to move on having been moored in Nottingham over a week, so it was down to Meadow Lane Lock for the services and out onto the Trent.
Unfortunately whilst downloading the photos from our journey to Newark tonight, I'm afraid I deleted todays pictures before saving them!  Oops!
Weather has been sunny but very windy, all locks are operated by the lock-keeper so not much work to do. We moored up just through the bridge below Newark Town Lock. Will explore tomorrow.
