Silent Movement - Our gap year travelling the inland waterways

Llanthony Lock

At one time there was a Hereford and Gloucester Canal, which closed very early on selling out to the railway, who built on the canal line. At Gloucester the canal joined the River Severn.

Now you can find the lock walls in good condition and lock house, not a lot of water, although it was too wet to walk along following the heavy rains we had last night.

Hidden in the undergrowth we found an old bollard. Plans are under way for restoration of the old canal.
