A very sad day………
Yesterday afternoon Jumble had another of his ‘turns’ when his legs went from under him and he had to be carried back onto the boat. He never really picked up and wasn’t eating, drinking or walking and was panting a lot. So this morning we rang a vet just a long the canal in Walsden and got Jumble there early this afternoon. He was in heart failure so we made the decision to say goodbye and he was put to sleep with us beside him, talking to him.
Already the boat is a very different place without him, it will take some getting used to.
Good bye boy…….
Thank you old fella.
Our hearts go out to you both - I'm glad we had the privilege of meeting him. It's sooo hard xxoo

A terrible shock on hearing your sad news. Jumble was a great character and we are sure you will have many lovely memories of him. Doug and James xx
ReplyDeleteOh that's so sad, at least you didn't make the poor old boy carry on and suffer.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry - you are very much in my thoughts. Kathryn
ReplyDeleteAlways a hard decision to take but it was the best for Jumble

That's a big gap aboard Tacet and your hearts but lots of happy memories to enjoy over the years. Very sorry to read about the loss of your dear Jumble.

Ian and Karen,
ReplyDeleteOh so sad, I am really feeling for you. The boat will feel empty for sure. Happy memories for you both though
I haven't met any of you, but having been there ourselves, this is so sad.......
ReplyDeleteTo all you lovely people,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for all your kind messages and thoughts.
We are missing our 'beloved Jumble' who was 'every sort of dog' very much. In time all our memories will be a comfort, but today it's hard.
Thank you
Ian and Karen
So sorry to hear your sad news (we lost our Tess 6 weeks ago). It's very hard. We have not met you yet, but started reading your blog via Chance's, and you passed us while we were moored up on the Leicester Line in July (I'm green with envy that you went round the foundry - the lady was away on holiday when we came through Loughborough the previous week).

We are so sorry to hear about Jumble. I bet the boat is a very different place now. Our thoughts are with you both.
