Foraging Fruits

I don't think I have posted some of my recent finds and makes.
A bowl of rosehips found on the Ashton canal, now made up into
Rosehip Cordial, delicious.
A lovely find of crab apples, a beautiful rosy colour, made into
crab apple jelly, my favourite used as jam, with cheese or making a sauce with sausages.

Today we travelled to the end of the Middlewich branch, a long stretch with only 2 locks so I got some boat cleaning jobs done. Its great washing up and cleaning windows with the view changing all the time. Two loads of washing done today as well, dried really well in the sun and the breeze from moving along.
Then onto the Shropshire Union at Barbridge Junction where we used the services and then onto Hurleston Junction and the Llangollen Canal. Tonight we moored at Wrenbury, a lovely quiet and peaceful spot, a short walk to the village and church in the morning.

16 miles, 11 locks

  1. About 5 days ago, I removed word verification from my comments. Since then, there are certain blogs I have been unable to comment on, including yours. I've just re-added word verification and this seems to be working again. How annoying!!!
