Silent Movement - Our gap year travelling the inland waterways

Today!

We walked again into Fenny Compton this morning to the little Methodist Chapel, it's squeezed between houses, easy to miss!

But inside, although not big, was a lovely little chapel, with a warm welcome.
Back on board Tacet we wasted no time in untying the ropes and getting moving, as it was again a lovely day.
Fenny Compton Tunnel

The South Oxford Canal is much narrower than the Grand Union with narrow locks, we like them. The Fenny Compton Tunnel is now just a cutting, the original tunnel having being opened out.
Lift bridges, lots of these on the South Oxford, this was fixed up. Easy.

Neat little lock huts alongside some of the locks. We worked through 2 sets of locks today, 5 at Claydon and 3 before Cropredy.

As we moored up the sun had just set, the reflections were great.

A good place to be.

5 miles, 8 locks
