Dreaming Spires

"And that sweet city with her dreaming spires,
She needs not June for beauty's heightening,"

Matthew Arnold: Thyrsis 1867

A collection of photos from last weekend in Oxford, we followed a walking tour guide of the city peeping in at the college quads, the castle, churches and towers. Today we have done a bit of shopping and will go to the cinema later to see the Sherlock Holmes film.

  1. I'm thinking of going to see Sherlock Holmes, but I've read mixed comments from friends. What did you think of it please?

You had beautiful weather in which to appreciate the dreaming spires!

    1. SH had its good and not so good points. Good, often funny script, rather more shooting and killing than I like, not quite as much clever deduction as you might expect though it was there. Think I prefer the recent TV version, I thought that was a clever modern adaptation.
