Cold, Coal and Compositions

Today's journey was much more pleasant, without the freezing wind, we could enjoy the sunshine.  There were patches of ice after the very cold night, but we set off after a hire boat, so they had already broken a pathway through.

It looked very pretty though with a layer of snow glistening in the sun.

As we were pulling in at Rugby, needing to do Tesco shop, along came Mikey on nb Victoria.  We were needing coal and gas so we flagged him down and stocked up. Last week we began to think we could let the fire out overnight, but this week...........

Thanks Mikey, no need to ration the coal now.

At Hillmorton we saw the much talked about poetry on the new lock beams. Not really sure what it achieves, doesn't quite seem the right thing on working industrial heritage sites. Also not sure what order it is supposed to be read in.  Or if it makes sense to you?

Found a quiet spot tonight between Barby and Willoughby.
